I help adults who are struggling with:
Impact of growing up with Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) and Emotionally Immature Parents (EIPs)
Difficult family relationships (including challenging in-law relationships)
Chronic guilt and shame, harsh inner critic
Anxiety, stress, triggers, emotionally stuck/numb/overwhelmed/disconnected
People-pleasing, perfectionism, avoidance, shut down,
Relationship struggles: boundaries, communication, conflict resolution, co-dependency, connection and trust
Self-esteem and identity struggles
Breaking generational cycles and parenting
Many of my clients grew up believing their childhood was “fine” or “not that bad,” but are now realizing they learned to suppress their emotions, needs, and authentic self in order to survive emotionally.
Who do you work with?

Insurance accepted: BCBS
I partner with Headway to handle all insurance-related tasks so I can stay focused on our work together. Headway manages billing and claims to make the process as simple as possible for you.
Please note that you are responsible for understanding your insurance benefits. This may include co-pays, deductibles, or other out-of-pocket costs based on your plan.
Payment
Superbills are available upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
I accept payment via credit card, Health Savings Account (HSA), or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Payments are processed securely and confidentially through Ivy Pay.
A card is required to be kept on file to confirm your first appointment. Payment is due at the start of each session.
Below are some of the key benefits of paying out-of-pocket for mental health services:
Increased Privacy: Paying out-of-pocket allows your information to remain fully private. I’m not required to share personal details or assign a diagnosis to your insurance company, which helps protect your confidentiality.
High Deductible Insurance Plan or Limited/No Mental Health Coverage: If you have a high deductible or limited mental health coverage, you may end up paying out-of-pocket anyway. Private pay can be a more straightforward option in these cases.
More Flexibility and Personalized Treatment: You care and treatment options are not restricted by insurance networks or session limits. This allows you to choose the right therapist and receive care that’s tailored to your needs, without limitations on frequency or type of therapy.
Cancellation/No-Show Policy:
Cancellations: Please cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your appointment. Changes outside of the 48-hour window can be made through my online calendar.
If you need to cancel within 48 hours, please email me at katie@connecttherapymn.com. Late cancellations may be charged the full session fee if you cannot reschedule within the same week, or if the time cannot be filled by another client.
Exceptions may be made for emergencies (e.g., serious illness or loss) on a case-by-case basis.
No-Shows: Fee equal to full session amount is automatically applied to all no-shows and must be paid before the next session.
